You do most of your Pictor Player configuration from within Pictor Manager. Pictor Player has several configuration options that show up when you exit full-screen mode.
To exit full-screen mode, click ESC or double-click on the programme window (both options can be disabled, see General settings).
Main menu Pictor Player
Menu Program
- Data directory - a directory on the computer's disk where the programme saves basic settings data. Files can also be played here, but their location can be changed in the Data directory menu.
- Open – opening the data directory location in File Explorer.
- Remote management
- Remote management data – display a window with the ID and password for managing the player.
- Address of the remote management server– enter the address of the communication server that performs remote connections. Do not enter any data here without consulting your administrator. Unfilled data indicates the default server.
- TCP port of a direct (local) connection– change the default TCP port on which the software waits for a direct connection from Pictor Manager.
- Licence- display the data of the activated licence. License activation is done from Pictor Manager (see License activation).
- Close – end of Pictor Player.
Full screen
- Enable full-screen mode - switching the programme to full-screen mode without frames with exclusion of the visibility of the Windows bar, mouse cursor, etc. Full screen mode is the player's standard mode. It can also be enabled from within Pictor Manager (see Full screen).
- Enable without maximising - an unusual (for testing) full-screen mode that does not disable the Windows bar and mouse cursor.
- Enable without maximising and hiding the frame - an unusual (for testing) full-screen mode that does not disable the Windows bar and mouse cursor. The window frame is also not hidden, allowing the window to be manually resized.
Content directory
The data directory is the folder on the disk where Pictor Player saves data. In this folder, you can create more subdirectories (data directory). One of them acts as the active data directory. In the currently selected data directory, the program recreates its own subdirectory structure where it saves the displayed content and configuration. More subdirectories can be created and switched between (requires restarting Pictor Player). This functionality enables complete separation of data. This can be used, for example, if the player is rented to different customers. It is not possible to change the data directory from Pictor Manager,
Location of data catalogues – option to change the disk location where all the programme data is stored. If a computer has more than one drive, we can store data on a drive other than the system drive.
Add new - option to add a new directory. You will be prompted to enter a name for the new directory. The directory will be created in the data directory, subdirectory Content.
Default – if no content subdirectory is selected, the programme saves the content directly in the data directory. This location is specified as the default.
When Pictor Player is installed, the demo content is played. If you do not want to manually delete all demo content simply create a new content directory and switch the program to this directory.
