Group management

Modified on Wed, 12 Jun at 8:44 AM

The Pictor system supports the management of multiple players in two methods. The choice of the optimal method depends on the user's preferences and the level of complexity of the content structure.

Group adding/deleting content

You can add new content or delete existing content simultaneously for multiple registered players. In this way, only the default playlist of the first region can be managed.

This is a simplified group management model that only allows changes to the default playlist of the first region.

You will not add content for Music background  sing this method.

Adding content

To add new content in groups:

  1. Open the Your Players window.
  2. Select the Group editing tab.
  3. Mark with a tick the players to which you want to add content.
  4. Click Add in the bottom menu.
  5. Continue as if you were adding content to a single player.
  6. Confirm using the Ok button.

Once confirmed on the Group Edit window, you will see a progress bar for synchronising content for each player individually. If there is an upload error you will see a corresponding comment in the list.

The content will be added to the default playlist of the first region of each player.

If there is an error when uploading content to any player then connect to the player individually and try again.

Content removal

To delete content in groups:

  1. Open the Your Players window.
  2. Select the Group editing tab.
  3. Mark with a tick the players to which you want to add content.
  4. Click Delete in the bottom menu.
  5. In the window that opens, select the content to be deleted. The content to be selected will be from the default prylist of each selected player.
  6. Confirm using the Ok button.

Once confirmed on the Group editing tab you will see a progress bar for synchronising content for each player individually. If there is an upload error you will see a corresponding comment in the list.

Content can be removed from the first region's default playlist.

If there is an error when deleting content to any player then connect to the player individually and try again.

FTP synchronisation

Synchronisation via an FTP server enables full synchronisation of the displayed content between multiple players. One player acts as the master (uploads the configuration) and the others as slaves (downloads the configuration).

Note that you can create more player groups, but configure only one master player for each group and select a different folder on the FTP server.
